Organization: Makeup

This weekend, I found myself on the hunt for a bigger makeup box/carrier/whatever you want to call it. For years, I've been storing my makeup in this little tin carrier that I got from JC Penney and this week was the breaking point to buy a new one. I could no longer close it because it was so full. I found a nice one from Marshalls yesterday for $17:

It came with makeup already in it, but I kept some of it, and gave away the rest.

I then walked over to Big Lots to pick up a few things for the house, and I discovered that they sell E.L.F cosmetics. I'm probably late on this, but it's news to me. They didn't have a big selection, but I still picked up a few things.

The items came two to a pack- the two lip glosses, the bronzing powder came with a powder brush, the eyeshadow came with the eye pencil, and the mascara came with clear brow/lash gel. They were $1.80.

Recent purchases: Goodwill goodies!!!

Well, today is the last day of my vacation. I didn't go anywhere special, just stayed home. A week away from work is a vacay to me, lol. Anyway, on this last day of my vacay, I decided to vistit my favorite Goodwill spot. There were no crowds, and it was quite pleasant. One of the employees were putting away a new cart full of handbags, so I checked them out and found a few that I like:

All were $3.99. I also found a couple of pieces for work.

• skirt- $3.99. It looks weird on the hanger because it just came out of the wash.

Cops called on man paying for gas with pennies

This may be a sign that the gas crunch is breaking the piggy bank.
A man trying to pay for gas with a sackful of pennies at a Denver gas station Thursday got so pushy that clerks called police.
The 7:30 a.m. call was on what was termed an "unwanted person" at the Diamond Shamrock station at Broadway and 10th Avenue.
Employees said the man, driving a satellite TV truck, became offensive as he insisted on paying with about $10 worth of pennies while the station's mini-mart was busy with a line of customers and vendors delivering goods.
The penny-pusher took off just before police arrived. Store officials declined to comment.[source]

I'm sure if the pennies were rolled up, there wouldn't have been a problem. Oh well. At least he tried to pay. He could've stolen the gas. But this isn't as bad as someone trying to put a down payment on a car with nothing but nickels, dimes, and quarters. Yeah, this actually happened.

I just started back shopping at Marshalls one a year ago ever since they've opened a much nicer one at the Gulf Coast Town Center. They seem to have stepped their game up with their new boutiques- Shoe MegaShop and The Cube (that I'm dying to check it out one of these days because they haven't brought The Cube to my local stores yet). Clearance goodies @ Wet Seal

Weekend finds: Revisiting the Shoe MegaShop

Yesterday, I decided to pay another visit to the Shoe MegaShop at Marshalls. On the last visit, I bought shoes for work. This time, I bought shoes for casual/weekend wear. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just a pair of shoes with a fun or interesting print, or something I didn't have a crapload of already *stayed away from the gladiator and t-strap sandals, lol*. I ended up buying Mr. Cheap Chica a pair of sneakers and myself some plaid Roxy espadrilles.

Besides the Shoe MegaShop, there is also another boutique in Marshalls I've been hearing about called The Cube. The closest one to me is in Sarasota and Bradenton, so when I'm there again I'll check them out, so stay tuned....
