Since we're on the subject of free stuff, how about some free makeup!

As part of a $175 million class action lawsuit settlement, free cosmetics will be distributed to class members in participating department stores for a maximum of seven days, while supplies last, on a first come, first served basis, beginning on January 20, 2009. Each class member will be entitled to a maximum of one product. To read more details and a list of the stores and products, visit Cosmetics Settlement. Thanks for the tip Blaqueberie!

So you just go in & automatically get free stuff? Or do you have to purchase something?

I have seen this over and over again but the details are cloudy. I'll check your source. If possible.
I have no idea how to "get mines." LOL Am I to go to each counter and say, "I'd like my freebie?" How would the retailer know who is or isn't involved?
Rumor has it that "something" will be mentioned in your local paper. Buy a paper, girl! LOL If you called the retailers they wouldn't know what you're talking about. Details, momma..

From what I've heard from people who are more familiar with this case, you just go to the participating store and you have to sign a paper saying that you purchased cosmetics from one of the defendants (participating stores) during that time frame (May 29, 1994 through July 16, 2003). I don't think you need a receipt to prove it, besides, who still has a receipt from that long ago? Someone feel free to chime in if I'm wrong, but that's what I've heard.
