Cheapalicious beauty: My Spring nail colors for under $3

Just a few spring-y nail polishes that I've picked up at recent drugstore trips. It's definitely time to give my vampy and dark nail polishes a break. All of these polishes shown are under $3

(l)- (r): Sinful Colors in Mint Apple $1.99, Walgreens; Wet n Wild Wild Shine nail color in Kaleidoscope $0.99, KMart; Sally Girl in Cloud Blue $0.99, Sally's Beauty Supply; Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Wet Cement $2.89, Walgreens; Wet n Wild Wild Shine nail color in Sunny Side Up $0.99, Kmart

Kaleidoscope layered over Cloud Blue

  • Sunny Side Up: I could not get the true color from this camera on the outside or the inside picture, but this is actually more of a orange creme color. I discovered this color when Nouveau Cheap did a review on it (she has a better pic of the color there), and I wanted it because it was a nice orange color- not bright neon like tons of other orange polishes that I own.
  • Kaleidoscope: I rarely do glitter on my nails, but this would fun to layer over a nice pastel color.
  • Wet Cement: This color is perfect for spring. I wore the darker grays all this fall/winter, so it's time to lighten up a bit with this nice neutral.
  • Mint Apple: Could this be a possible dupe for the popular Essie Mint Candy Apple? I fell in love with this color when I saw it in the store. I think it's a very pretty mint green, and I can see myself wearing this a lot this coming spring.
  • Cloud Blue: This was one of the polishes that I bought on my last trip to Sally's Beauty Supply. I love this blue, and I've been searching for this shade for a while now. I think I'm going to need three coats to get the desired opaqueness that I want (that's only two coats in the pic) because it's kind of streaky, and that's the only thing that I don't like about this polish.

i really love that sally girl in cloud blue, i've been looking for something similar but no luck at my local cvs. everything is either too green or too blue! gotta check walgreens tomorrow :)

I love Sinful Colors, I discovered the brand about a year ago at Duane Reade and I've been hooked ever since. I'm not a huge fan of glittery polish, but the Wet n Wild one is super-cute!

Thanks so much for the shout-out!! And you were right--that Sinful shade is *gorgeous*. I neeeeeed it! Walgreens, here I come! Also, I had no idea that Sally Girl shade would look so stunning on--I need that too! It's gorgeous on you (and so is Sunny Side Up, of course!). xo

@the budget babe: yes, that was my problem with finding right turquoise color. this color is the shade i was looking for.

@living fly: yes, i love sinful colors, especially when walgreens has bogo free on them.

@recessionista: you're very welcome! u should definitely get the mint apple, especially if you're looking for something close to the essie mint candy apple.

The Sally Hansen in Wet Cement is divine, I'm going to buy that next time I go to Target. Been looking for a light gray, and I actually just mixed a dark gray by Revlon with Sally Hansen's White On for a DIY version. It's a bit darker than I wanted, but I still like it.

yes! I need some of those teal colors. Saw some Chanel ones that I could not justify paying $20 for!
