Goodwill hunting: The Clearance Center

Yesterday, I took a little drive over to the Goodwill Clearance Center in Bonita Springs.  Before I planned my trip to the Clearance Center, I had this idea that it was going to be this big warehouse with everything scattered about everywhere in bins and you would have to dig, dig, dig.  You would then have to go over to the register and have your items weighed and everything would be about $1 per pound.  Not this store, although I have seen on a message board that Goodwill Clearance Centers in different states operate this way.  This store is set up just like a regular Goodwill retail store, except everything is 50% off regular Goodwill prices.  Sweet!  I hate the fact that they didn't have a dressing room (or maybe I didn't pay attention enough to see if one was there?), so a couple of the pieces that I bought didn't fit once I got home, but it's all good. They had some awesome stuff and the staff was wonderful- nothing like good customer service! I will definitely visit again. Here are some of the items that I found.

Sam & Libby cognac pumps (brand new) $4.50

tribal print skirt $3.  I heart full skirts and I love this print.

Mossimo suede jacket $5.50

Elle charcoal skinny jeans $3

Donna Morgan gingham wrap dress (new with tags) $2.50.  Although this dress fits well, the "girls" are still spilling out, so I'm going layer a cami underneath.

I also bought an H&M floral dress for $2.50,  a pair of trouser jeans for $3, and a Remy Shand CD for $1 (great music if you're into neo-soul/ jazz).  Not bad for $25.

Wow, you got some great stuff lady! Can you believe that Goodwill actually has a clearance center. We have one in the city I live in too. Everything is in big bins and you have to go through them to find what you want. Then they charge you by the pound. Me and my mom use to lay-up in there back in the day but I stop going to thrift stores after my mom passed away. I was collecting too much stuff.

LOVE that gingham dress! We're hoping to open a Goodwill-by-the-pound clearance store in the next year or so, so we'll definitely keep you posted!

By the way, I'd love to hear your thoughts on our "So You Think You're Thrifty" finalists! Maybe next year, we can get you to an audition!!
