Cybershopping: Forever 21 haul

My local Forever 21 closed about two years ago, so whenever I want to get my F21 fix, I just order from their website. Besides, I'd rather order from the comfort of my own home than to drive to the next town over and deal with the annoying crowds.  That's just me.  I received my package Wednesday, and I'm pleased with my finds.  Here are a few items that I've found:

striped hibiscus tunic $17.80. *Sorry for the blurry pic*  The hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers, so I fell in love with this top the moment I saw it on the site.; model cover sublimination top $17.80

striped bow top $15.80.  I love the big bow on the shoulder.  It gives the top a little "oomph".

striped top $13.80.  I must've been having an obsession with stripes when I bought all of these tops because as you can see, the majority are all striped.  I just wanted a plain striped top that I can dress up or down and this one is perfect.  Zebra studded top $15.80.  This top is actually a peach color (obviously the camera didn't pick up the color), and has little studs/rhinestones throughout the stripes of the zebra.

And you know I had to add some accessories...

embellished anchor necklace $5.80 and red anchor necklace $4.80.  What better way to get in on the nautical trend on the cheap with a piece of nautical-inspired jewelry.; strawberry necklace $4.80, parrot necklace $7.80, and tusk necklace $5.80

tropical bangle $5.80, sparrow pendant $5.80, and straw belt $3.50

I also bought a pair of plain black hoop earrings for $2.80, a set of four stud earrings for $2.80, and gold multi chain floral necklace for $12.80.

Star style: Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) Brian Atwood studded pumps

Did anyone go and see Sex and the City 2 this weekend? I've heard mixed reviews about it from different people- some said it was good, and a few said they didn't  like it as much as the first one. But, there's one thing that everyone agreed on that was the best part of the film- the fashion! Carrie's (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) shoe game is always on point. Take for instance these Brian Atwood studded "Loca" pumps that she's wearing.  Hot!!!!

They're sold out on Net-a-Porter's website, but us cheapalistas know better.  We'll find a cheapalicious version in a heartbeat.  Like this cheapalicious version that will soon be available at Go Jane, simply called the Carrie Stud Shoe.  Only $29.90!

They're not available for purchase yet, so if you want them, sign up to receive email notification when they arrive.

Freebie Friday 5-28-10

Not many freebies this week. Enjoy!

Clearance Alert: Liberty of London for Target

This is one of those times where the website still has the items at regular price. I loved the colorful floral prints of the Liberty of London line, but I very rarely pay full price for anything. I was very happy to see the line on clearance at my local Target for 75% off. Some of the Gaultier pieces were sprinkled into clearance as well. I originally purchased this top:

Liberty of London for Target Boho Drop Waist Ruffle Top, regular price: $24.99

It was cute, but I returned it for the brighter version.

Liberty of London for Target Drop Waist Ruffle Top, Yellow/Green Susanna Print

Click the links for more info.

Now true....at $6.24, I probably could have had them, both, but I'm trying to budget. :)

A Cheapalicious closet: All better and "romping" around

I don't know why I'm smiling in this picture.  Maybe it's because I'm finally 100% better and this is my first time going outside (besides for work, of course) and enjoying my day.  I've been wanting a loose fitting black romper for some time now, and I've finally found this one at Tilly's. It's very comfortable, and it's an appropriate length. No hoochie mama here.  Loves it!

romper $18 (now on sale for $15), Tilly's; embellished sandals $13 (on sale), Kmart; jewelry ? (so old, I can't remember)

Nifty under $50: Love of Dresses

Spotlight on new e-boutique, Love of Dresses!

Owned and operated by husband and wife team, Bill and Tiffany Hager, Love of Dresses offers a small but fantastic selection of both new and vintage dresses- all (mostly) under $50!  What I especially like about the site is that you can search for a dress based on your body type (not sure of what your body type is, you can take the quiz here), so you'll know which dresses will flatter your body and I find that very helpful. Here are a few of my favorites from the store....

Botanical dress $24; "Miss Independent" dress $35.  Perfect for this season's nautical trend!; peacock feather maxi dress $22.50.  You know I'm loving this dress.; "Tilly" dress $20.  Teal and gold make a great color combo.  This would be cute to wear to an outdoor wedding with gold strappy heels or to a barbeque with flat sandals and a cropped cardigan.; "Audrey" dress $47.  Chambray is so in this season and I'm definitely loving this dress!  It has a 50's/60's housewife vibe to it.

Oh, and did I mention that standard shipping is only $2.95?  If you're looking for other shipping options such as express delivery, the rates are based on the weight of the package.  They also offer international shipping. Check 'em out!

Save 20% at JC Penney's Friends and Family event!

Designer way vs. Cheapalicious way

I'm in love with the Cynthia Vincent Roma wedge sandal. The rich cognac color (my favorite color), the gladiator inspired detail- it's the perfect summer shoe.  My girl, The Budget Babe, found a similar Steve Madden version of the shoe for about $90, but there's an even cheaper version!  Get them for a little less than $24 at Go Jane!

Tira's Goodwill Haul

Hey guys, I got some really good finds at my local Goodwill store. I went in with the intentions to find cute summer dresses and/or skirts and I found 2 cute dresses and a short khaki coat. Check out my finds:

The brand of this dress is Velvet Torch, I paid $8 for this baby. I think I'll save her for Memorial Day.

This yellow beauty was $5...the color is prettier in person. The dress is pretty simple but I can't wait to dress it up with a cute necklace.

And last but not least, I got this really cute khaki jacket. It's cold and rainy here as of late, so it's getting plenty of wear right now.

Mark your calendar: $1 Old Navy flip flops this Saturday (5/22)!

Need to stock up on some flip flops for the summer?  Head on over to Old Navy this Saturday (5/22), where they're having their One Day Wonder Sale- classic flip flops are just $1!  Limit 5 per person.  Be sure to call your local store to make sure they are participating in this promotion.

Where did you get that?: Charlotte's (Sex and the City) cupcake apron

As you all know, Sex and the City 2 opens up in theaters nationwide on May 27th (yay!).  In the film, you'll see that Ms. Charlotte is rocking this cutie patootie cupcake apron by Jessie Steele!  Only $30 at Unique Vintage.  Baking never looked so chic!

Out sick...

Hey everyone!  I'm sick, so I won't be posting anything for the upcoming week.  I don't have the energy to do anything, and I'm so suprised that I was able to get up and type this post.  Depending on how I feel, I may post something next week, but right now, I just want to get some rest.  See you soon...

Designer way vs. Cheapalicious way

Nowadays, it may be a little hard trying to find the BCBGMAXAZRIA "Tulipa" sandals since they're sold out damn there everywhere.  Don't worry.  Spiegel has a cheapalicious version for a mere $24!

You may want to check your local Payless, also.  I remember seeing a similar style about a couple months ago at my local store, and they were really cheap- under $10 on clearance!

Sale alert: $20 maxi dresses @ Charlotte Russe

Looking to add yet another maxi dress to your spring/summer wardrobe?  Head on over to Charlotte Russe and snag yourself one for only $20!

Cheapalicious beauty: Dove Go Fresh and Aveeno generics @ CVS

Ever since Recessionista! of Noveau Cheap spotted these Dove Go Fresh body mist and deordorant generics at her local CVS, I made sure I'd look out for them whenever I stopped in the next time. Yesterday, I happened to spot them, so I grabbed the Lemongrass and Grapefruit scent.

size comparison of CVS brand and Dove Go Fresh

For $3.99, you get a whole ounce more product than with the regular Dove spray (CVS brand is 4 oz.). The thing that disappointed me was that the CVS version didn't smell anywhere as close to the Dove Grapefruit and Lemongrass scent. The CVS version has more of a citrus-y scent as opposed to the fresh, clean scent of the Dove body spray. Don't get me wrong, I like the smell of the CVS version, but I was expecting it to smell somewhat similar to the real thing.  Perhaps I should've got a whiff of it before I bought it?  Not a total waste.  I will wear it on days when I want to smell citrus-y.

I then spotted the generic version of Aveeno's Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads and picked up a jar.  The CVS version is only $6.49 for 28 pads and they work just as well as the Aveeno pads.  I use these strictly for exfoliation (they are dual textured), and I love the way my skin feels afterwards.  Definitely one of my skincare staples.

Star style under $200 : Hilary Duff

GRAND TOTAL= $189.80

A Cheapalicious closet: Chambray "dress"

The hubby and I had to do a little bit of running around today to the usual weekend places- Home Depot, lunch, then grocery shopping.   I wanted to be comfortable, so I threw on this chambray dress that I scored from Ebay for $4 (shipping included) and a pair of leggings. I thought this "dress" was going to be a little longer, but of course it isn't, so it's going to be worn as a tunic. I can't imagine myself wearing a dress this short.  Some people can pull it off.  Me, not so much. I wanted to cinch it with my black woven belt, but comfort was the most important thing at that moment.   Instead, I just added a few bracelets and one of my big bold rings to jazz it up a bit.

Mossimo chambray dress/tunic $4, Ebay; leggings $6, Target; gladiator sandals $10, Walmart; bracelets $1, Country Dollar; ring $1, local beauty supply store

Star style: Jessica Simpson
