Cheapalicious beauty: Creme of Nature Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment

While browsing my local beauty supply store last week, I spotted a new line of products containing argan oil from Creme of Nature. Being a fan of Creme of Nature's products (I love their Detangling Conditioning shampoo- the old formula), and being totally in love with my Sally's Beauty Supply argan oil, I decided to give this conditioning treatment a try. It was only available in the 1.75 oz. packet for a little under $2, which is fine, because if I didn't like it, then at least I didn't waste my money on a whole bottle of this stuff.

What it promises:

• strengthens
• deeply infuses moisture
• prevents hair breakage

 The consistency of the conditioner is very thick and creamy, and has a very pleasant smell.  After I shampooed, I applied this and covered my head with a plastic cap for about an hour (although the instructions state to leave the conditioner on for 10-15 minutes under a hooded dryer, I have a habit of leaving my conditioners on for an hour or more, and plus, I don't own a dryer).  After I rinsed, my hair was so soft, detangling was a breeze, and it didn't weigh my hair down.   I also noticed less shedding as I was detangling, so I guess it did its job on strengthening the hair. I would definitely buy this conditioner again, and maybe try out some of the other products in the line as well.  Will this replace my beloved ORS Replenishing  Conditioner as my deep conditioner of choice?  It just might.

Summer Shoe Love...

Hey guys! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Mine has been pretty hectic between working, writing, and spending time with my better half. I took a trip home to Cleveland, visited friends in DC and saw The Alvin Ailey Dance Company in Central Park. I got my first professional massage, and I started a couple side hustles for extra cash. Even though I am excited that it is almost time for my favorite season, autumn, I will miss the warm weather, long days, and outdoor concerts. Since we have a few more weeks of hotness upon us, I picked up a few pairs of summer shoes. I think I'm good until next year. Check out my deals (click pic for closer view):

1. Mossimo Peep-Toe Flat "Opal" (No longer available online. I bought this pair in a store for $20) I looooove this one. The yellow is more of a mustard color, and it goes with everything. yesterday I wore them with a white tee, jeans and my necklace I purchased from Dots and they gave me a fly pop of color. The quality was so nice, I had to get them twice (see #2, LOL)
   
2. Same shoe as #1 but in red...I paid about $10 for these...gotta love clearance.
   
3. Laura-09 by Mixx Net Cutout Pump, I purchased for $30, but they are available on LoveMyShoes for 40% with the coupon code:AUG1040
4. Exchange by Charles David I paid $20 (regularly $40) but these are now on sale for $14.99. They are 4 inches, but the platform makes them easier to walk in. Who knew Sears had such cute shoes?
   
5. Regis Huarache Sandal, Payless I did a BOGO and got this pair for $17
6. American Eagle by Payless Audrey Knot flat in Gold. This was my second pair in a BOGO so I paid about $6 for these. The description says gold, but this shoe is very, very light beige. It's a really neutral color.

The Joe's Jeans "Princess" platform wedge will set you back a cool $220.  Want the look, but don't want to spend that kind of money on some shoes?  Forever 21 has a similar version for under $30.  Although the material is different and there's an absense of a zipper, you can clearly see where F21 gets its inspiration.
