Cheapalicious beauty: Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System

As one of the Christmas gifts to myself, I bought the Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System.  I've been wanting the Clarisonic for sometime now, but couldn't really afford it.  When this device hit the market in December, I decided to give it a try.

Product details:
  • Cleanses skin 6x better than basic cleansing
  • 2-speed, rotating system delivers daily deep cleansing and gentle exfoliation.
  • Water resistant for use in the shower.
  • Replaceable soft bristle brush head (included).  Refills available.
  • Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser (sample included) recommended for daily exfoliation.
  • Cleansing brush can also be used with a broad range of Olay cleansers for daily deep cleansing.
  • 2 AA batteries also included.

My thoughts:  I've been using this brush for over a month and I must say, my skin has never been in better shape. It makes cleansing so much better than by hand.  I've noticed that after using this brush, it has improved the texture of my skin and my moisturizers work so much better. I also have fewer breakouts now, and that's a major plus for me. As stated above, it came with a sample tube of Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser(I haven't tried it yet although I've heard good things about it), but it works well with any cleanser.

The Olay Cleansing System has a two-speed control.  I always use mine on the highest speed because my face feels the cleanest on that setting (that's just me). What I didn't like about this device is placing the batteries in the compartment.  I had to do this pull and twist motion to get it open, and it wasn't easy.  My hands ached a little trying to get that sucker open (lol).  That's the only problem I have with it, but other than that, I love it! I may still consider buying the Clarisonic in the near future, but for now, this will do. I never cleanse my face without it.

I love this little gadget! My skin has never looked better and my treatments absorb so well. My pores are disappearing! Worth every penny.

I've been thinking about getting this one too until I can afford a Clarisonic. That $30 price tag is a lot more reasonable for sure.

I've been using this too for about a month, and my skin looks great. My pores are smaller, the textures seems smoother, and I have a glow. I'm hooked.

Have you noticed how much this one looks like the expensive DDF brush? The back plate is exactly the same, except the cost for this one is 1/3 (DDF brush retails for approx $95).

So you really got a bargain!

Can you use a different cleansing product with this?

Works really good and delivers. I didn't have a rough time taking the battery cap off, just cup it with your palm and rock side to side. I used it with the total effects with blemish control cleanser followed by the total effects mositurizer as I suffer from breakouts yet my skin is too sensitive for an acne regimen. Even takes off make-up that's been left behind by a make-up remover!

I have this brush too. I am in love!! Been using it about a month. Have wanted a Clarisonic for years now.. Just couldnt justify spending 200+ dollars. Am so thrilled I got this. My friend has a Clarisonic and this one and she says she wishes this was out before she bought the Clarisonic. She said the Olay brush is better! Doesnt it feel great to get something amazing like this at such a great price?!!

That's so hilarious that you had a tough time with the battery pack because so did I! I thought maybe I was just an idiot and wasn't reading the directions correctly. I definitely think this is a great and cheap alternative to the Clarisonic.

I love your blog by the way...I actually have a blog myself and it's for the budget-conscious fashionista.

My husband bought me the clarisonic for Christmas. It's okay, not great. I want to get the ProX, yet am worried it will be the same as clarisonic. I don't know the best place to purchase one? Any suggestions?
