Tira's Birthday Find

Hey Guys!!!

I had a FABULOUS birthday weekend, which was only made better by this awesome deal I found at my local Marshalls. They were having a nice clearance sale on their shoes. I originally seen these for $39.99, but I got them for $25!!!

Atonee by Madden Girl

These are perfect going out shoes. I was going to wear these to a party, but decided to wait to break these out when the weather gets warmer, so I don't have to wear tights. I also took advantage of Old Navy's extra 50% off clearance sale. I bought a bunch of tanks, and a couple pairs of basketball shorts for my boyfriend.

Designer way vs. Cheapalicious way

The Diane Von Furstenberg "Opal" wedge sandals retail for $295 at Net-a-Porter.com.  Steve Madden's "Riddgge" sandal has almost the exact same look and is a more budget friendler version for about $195 less than the DVF's.  Also available in black at Amazon.com.

Nifty under $50: Trouser jeans

Trouser jeans are back (or did they ever leave?)!  Take a break from your skinnies and get in on this coming spring's latest trend.  I love trouser jeans because they're one of the few jean styles that flatter my shape.  I still have a couple of pairs from a few years ago, and I wore the heck out of them on casual Fridays at work (still do!). They look awesome with a cute wedge or heel. Look out for them in different washes and colors, but a darker wash is great for instantly slimming thighs.  Check out a few of my favorites below for under $50.

skinny flared trouser jeans $34.50, Old Navy; skinny flare trouser jeans $49.95, NY & Co; women's plus flared trouser jean $36.50;  Thousand Dances trouser jeans $41.16 (reg. $98), Quicksilver; LC Lauren Conrad wide leg trouser jeans $39.99 (reg. $54), Kohl's

Fab find: Nautical striped blazer @ Walmart

Here's another fab find from Walmart! This blazer reminds me of a design from the Givenchy RTW Spring 2010 collection (Anthropologie later came out with a similar version that I featured in this post).  This would fit nicely into my spring wardrobe- if only my size were available (as of now, only M and L are left).  Maybe one day, I'll luck out and find the perfect black and white striped blazer....

French Terry Nautical Striped blazer  $14, Walmart

Cheap, Cheaper, Cheapest: Crochet sandals

I can't wait until spring gets here....

Cheap:  Elizabeth and James "Gypsy" sandal $112.50 (reg. $225), 6pm.com
Cheaper:  "Wynn" sandal $34.90, Alloy
Cheapest:  crochet gladiator sandal $26.50, Charlotte Russe

Fab find (reader submission): YesStyle convertible tall boots

Cheapalicious reader, Alesia, alerted me about these fabulous boots she just purchased from YesStyle!  One boot, twelve different looks!  That's awesome considering that the boots are less than $40 (prices vary depending on the size).  Alesia also informed me that if you use coupon code FACEBOOK5 at the checkout, you get $5 off your order.  The code worked for her last night, so I'm not sure how long this offer is good for. Thanks for this fab find!

Designer way vs. Cheapalicious way

The Christian Louboutin "Pigelle" flat retails for $775 at Barney's. Are you cringing at that price?  Yep, I know you are, but don't worry.  Alloy has a similar, cheapalicious style for under $25!

Lunchbreak shopping: Mini CVS beauty haul

Yesterday, I made a trip over to CVS to see what was left from the annual beauty clearance sale.  Last year, I pretty much made out like a bandit, but this year, not so much.  There weren't many items left, and I don't know if it was because everything was picked over or they just didn't have that many items marked down to begin with.  I didn't leave the beauty aisle empty handed though.  Check out what I walked away with:

NYX glitter cream palettes $2.49 each (with CVS card, reg. $4.99).  I was surprised to see that CVS was carrying NYX products because I haven't heard any talks about it.  I'm not sure if this was a promo price or if these were on clearance, but $2.49 is a steal!

NYC "White Lights Glitter" nail color and "Sheer Red" lipstick $0.99 each.  I had a $1.00 off coupon from this months All You Magazine, making both of these just $0.98!

Although there weren't a lot of items on clearance, I managed to find some L'Oreal HIP duos (in Mischief and Flashy) for 75% off.  They ended up being $2.09 each, but since I had two $1 off L'oreal coupons (you can get them here, click on "special savings and offers",but you must register your email address), that brought them down to $1.09 each.

Now here's the fun part.  I  had $8 in Extra Care Bucks to work with, plus my 10% off "Beauty Pass" from the newly launched CVS ExtraCare Beauty Club (upon enrollment, you get a 10% off coupon to use on beauty items. Sign up here).  Add in my other personal items that I bought for $5.49, and I ended up only spending $5.36 out of pocket.

Did you find any good stuff from CVS's beauty clearance?

Nifty under $50: Dolce Vita for Target sandals

Well, look what crept onto Tar-jay's website without me paying attention, and just in time for this coming spring!  Cute sandals from Dolce Vita!  I didn't think Dolce Vita would come out with a follow up collection for Target. I thought the first collection would be the only, or maybe even the last. But, here they are again with a few styles that are perfect for spring/ summer and under $30.  Works for me!  I passed on the last collection, but the nude colored rope wedges are calling my name...

Have you seen any of these new sandal styles at your local store yet?

Designer way vs. Cheapalicious way
