Last week, I had the opportunity to shop newly launched clothing and accessories website, Moddeals.com. Mod Deals carries trendy junior fashions, with prices comparable to Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. Come to think of it, Mod Deals' prices are a little less expensive than the aforementioned stores. Everything on the site is less than $20. I did a little browsing, and although a lot of the merchandise isn't really my style, I did find a few pieces that i liked.
The shipping is a flat rate of $2.99 anywhere in the US (including Hawaii and Alaska), and my package arrived pretty quickly (placed an order on Thursday, and it arrived on Monday). I bought three items- a top and two blazers- and as you can see, they packed everything in this envelope.
I didn't mind them packing everything into this rather small envelope. As long as everything is carefully packed and none of my items would get damaged, it's fine with me.
Now, on to the goodies.......
oversized tie front blouse $10.80: This is the only item in my order that fit me. I wear an XL in junior's sizes, but a Large in this top fit perfectly. I wore it to work with a pair of black dress pants and pumps and got a lot of compliments. It's very sheer, so of course I had to layer a cami underneath.
electrifying neon pink blazer $8.88 (on sale, reg. $14.80): I was hoping that this blazer fit. I've been wanting a neon piece in my wardrobe for a while, and I thought I'd found it- until I tried this blazer on. I was upset that I couldn't get my arms through the sleeves. I don't know if it was the lining in the blazer (me and anything lined don't get along. weird, i know) or my arms were just too big for it (mind you, I have big arms and broad shoulders). Needless to say, I was highly disappointed that this didn't fit.
big pocket blazer $8.88 (on sale, reg. $14.80): I used the site's pic because the red one that I ordered was entirely too wrinkled to photograph (plus it's out of stock, so I couldn't use the pic for it). I took a chance on a size Large because the XL was out of stock, and the customer service rep assured me that it was generously cut because it's a "boyfriend" style blazer. Unfortunately, it didn't fit. The XL, would've been perfect. It's a thin, lightweight material and this would've been the perfect piece to throw on over some of my sleeveless dresses for the office. Hopefully, they'll re-stock red soon.
Overall, I like Mod Deals, and I would keep checking back from time to time for new items. Like I said earlier, a lot of the merchandise is not really my style, but then again, I'm picky when it comes to fashion. I do like that they carry plus sizes also (up to 3XL), so there's something for everyone. Mosey on over to Mod Deals and tell me what you think. If you happen to find something that you like, use coupon code cheapalicious15off to get 15% off your purchase. Offer good until October 10, 2012.
