Goodwill Hunting: Digging around at the Goodwill Outlet.....

I decided to venture out of the house on Sunday and check out the newly opened Goodwill Outlet Center in my town.  I've been to Goodwill outlets in the past (actually clearance centers) but they were just Goodwill stores that sold their items 50% off less than  regular Goodwill prices. This store is different. Everything's in bins and is sold by the pound.  At first, I was a bit intimidated because I've heard stories of  these types of thrift stores being crazy and out of control, but it was cool.  It wasn't that busy and I was able to look through the bins in peace without someone pushing me out of the way.

The bins.  Intimidating, right?  They're actually not that deep and digging was kinda fun!

Like I stated earlier, all items are in bins and sold by the pound. At this store, everything BUT shoes are $0.89/lb. That includes clothing, accessories, toys, books, and housewares.  Shoes are $1.29/lb.  I was expecting big, huge bins that I would have to spend hours digging in, but it wasn't like that at all!  They were maybe a foot deep (probably a tad deeper), so digging through was a breeze.  Every half hour, they rotate some of the bins to bring in  fresh inventory to look through.  I found some pretty neat stuff, including a pair of Tahari trouser jeans!  I got eleven items for a total of $7.55 (tax included).  That averages out to $0.69 a piece! Will definitely visit again! Check out what I found......

Sidenote:  Since my camera took a dump (hopefully, I'll get a new one for Christmas, lol), I used my phone's camera to take pics of my haul.  Not the best quality, so I tried to edit the photos as best as I could.

My haul!

Tahari trouser jeans that I found.  I couldn't take a decent pic of these once I got home, so I used this pic that I tweeted earlier instead.

canvas tote bag, vintage cardigan, and Axcess by Liz Claiborne short sleeve cardigan

kimono jacket.  This is really a top, but I'm going to take my seam ripper to it and cut out the shell underneath it.

dressbarn top and pencil skirt

chunky knit sweater and tribal print dress/ tunic

plaid capris and polka dot top

Love it, especially the kimono jacket! My Goodwill Outlet has become an absolute jungle, so I have to have a ton of patience when I visit.

This is crazy good - Your haul looks like you walked out of a mall, not a thrift store!! Seriously amazing finds and under $10, there's gotta be a contest to enter or something, LOL.

Yes the Goodwill outlets can seem a little intimidating at 1st but once you navigate your way around, there are definitely treasures to be found. There is actually a goodwill outlet 15 minutes away from my home and it is very addicting. I mean after all you are getting a bag of clothes for the cost of 1 new retail item very hard to resist. Lol Nice finds, love all of the printed items.

so now i gotta research to see if we have any Goodwill Outlets in my area! i couldn't thrift at all in 2013 because of my challenge, but it's something i'm actually looking forward to doing more of in the upcoming year. at these prices - i'd dig in bins until the cows come home!
